This.

Imagine if Jesus and Lady Gaga made a product out of pure unicorn blood and then Ghandi blessed it after it was filtered through a rainbow of infant tears on top of Mount Everest and it dropped down from the sky to the bottom of the Pacific Ocean where a narwhal incubated it to it’s maturity and sold it to Johnny Appleseed where he planted it on the holy grounds of Jerusalem and it sprouted into a glitter explosion of pure amazingness. That’s what a ribosome does. Well, not exactly. A ribosome is responsible for translating mRNA into proteins. We use proteins for basically everything, so without them, we die. Basically it's the Holy Grail of cell organelles. At least for me.

First Lab

I thought the enzyme lab was a good lab to start with, mostly because I was very familiar with it because of CP chemistry. Unfortunately, I was absent for the majority of the lab due to a family situation, so I didn't get as much information out of this lab as I would have liked to. My group did run into a few problems with the catalyze part of the experiment. The solution would instantly change color after one drop of the solution, probably because the concentration was off balance. Overall, this lab turned out to be pretty successful for my group.

Well I'm just going to be honest. I'm already overwhelmed, with all the reading. But I think it's just a matter of time. I just need to get comfortable and used to how this class works.

What topic are you most looking forward to in this class? Why?
  • Evolution. I find evolution to be extremely interesting. Also experiements that have anything to do with DNA, because I want to go into the criminal justice field.

What topic are you least looking forward to in this class? Why?
  • Definetely anything to do with chemistry. Mostly because I highly disliked that class and completely forgot all the material.

Why hello there my name is Danica Wietfeldt, obviously. After high school I plan to attend Central Michigan University but currently undecided on what I'm going to study. I've been contemplating all my options and think I may have narrowed it down to something in the Criminal Justice field. But anyway, I'm taking AP Biology becasue I feel like I need a challenge in my life, ya know. I've been extremely lazy lately, due to my case of senioritis, but I'm starting to change my ways this semester becasue in college lazy will get me NO WHERE. So I thought AP Biology would help me be better prepared for college classes.
